We are
honestly hesitant to write a statement of faith as we recognize many who have
claimed the very beliefs that we hold and have at the same time produced some
pretty awful fruit.
Having said that, we are also honored to call ourselves Christian, and perhaps that, in the understanding of following our Lord and our King, Jesus, expresses most accurately what we believe.
Yet for those of you who feel you need more details, below are the truths that we feel we can stand uncompromisingly on:
We believe the Bible as we have it today is the written word of God and as such is authoritative and trustworthy.
We believe that there is one God, who always has been and always will be; and who is existent in three ‘persons’ of The Father, The Son (Jesus) and The Holy Spirit
We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus, who though fully God, lived a sinless life as a man, experiencing the same battles and temptations that we experience. We believe that He was crucified, died and was buried and that on the third day He rose from the dead and subsequently ascended into heaven, where He reigns and from where He will return to claim His bride, the church, whose kingdom shall have no end.
We believe that all men are born as slaves to sin, a result of the fall, and that it is through faith alone in Jesus Christ that an individual is redeemed and made a new creature in Christ.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit as He indwells in every believer and desires to be actively involved in our lives.
We believe that Jesus invites us to join Him in advancing His Kingdom and that this Kingdom and this life in Christ is opposed by an enemy who the bible identifies as Satan. We believe that each man and woman has a unique role to play in this Kingdom.
We believe that Jesus will return, soon, to usher in the fullness of that Kingdom.
